Oh! Ringo!

Hello Ringo my true love! I know I don’t post much anymore, but I can assure you that still drumming is my madness! But… I am living in a Minefield, I am walking on thin ice…

these days have been so lonely, but I try to hold on, I have your records (I have some of Paul’s too! I know you play on Pipes Of Peace and Flaming Pie on some tracks!) to keep me company. And I go for long walks with my headphones on.

Ringo I hope you are as happy as can be!

waiting for a new EP, the last one was great great great! I really loved it!

see you soon!

Can’t I buy your love?

My dear Ringo… a few days ago it was your birthday. Your 83th birthday! I was in Athens at that time for a Scorpions / Alice Cooper concert (you’re better than them, don’t worry!) and I shouted out my lungs, PEACE AND LOVE, PEACE AND LOVE, and everybody was giving me strange looks. What do they know?

But the main story of this post is your NFT paintings. They’re so great! But unfortunately I can’t afford them, I will always be jealous of the ones that gets them. I will just save the .jpg file to my computer, but I will know that I don’t have something unique.

I love that you are open to new things my Ringo!

Peace and love

after all these years

Byeolena

our boy’s birthday!

Ringo my love, I hope you don’t forget our beloved boys’ birthday today! Julian Lennon was born on a day like today on 1963! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIAN!!!

I would like to know how you reacted when you learned that Cynthia was pregnant, I if you remember the first time you saw baby Julian! Were you happy? Did you make funny faces to make him laugh?

I wonder of you kept in contact with him as Uncle Paul did through the years! I also found this photo :

George, Julian and Ringo

What a great photo! I think it must be circa 1992, you got the «Time Takes Time» hair and George has his «Live In Japan» moustache! (and Lord, I really love his moustache!) and Julian is in his «Help Youslef» time! So Cute! I wonder if you remember that day! So many things I would like to ask you!

Anyway, I hope you remember him, and why not, call him for a duet on your new album!

Ringo The 4th

I decided that it will be good to make my reviews on Ringo albums! From now on, I will review Ringo’s albums, in random order! The first one will be… RINGO THE 4th!!!

Ringo The 4th

Ringo the 4th was released on 20 September 1977 ! On this album Ringo tried to go DISCO! And I love disco! After Ringo’s Rotogravure on 1976, Ringo tried new things, without a little help of his friends, John, Paul or George! The first track… I have no words for it! Drowing In The Sea Of Love! A disco extravaganza that suits Ringo’s voice perfectly! I couldn’t believe my ears when I first listened to it! I went down one time, and I went down two times Drowing In The Sea Of Greatness! I wish Ringo had done more disco songs! It is even better than Beach Boys’ «Here Comes The Night», another favourite of mine!

On #2 we have Tango All Night! Another great song! If Ringo wants to dance all night, I want it too!

On #3 is another favourite! Wings! As much as I love Paul’s group Wings, I love this song much more! It has such a great intro, with that guitar, so perfect! If I had the wings of an eagle… It is such a great song that Ringo gave it a second chance with re-recoding it in 2012, but I prefer this first version! One of the stand-out tracks of the album, and a Ringo classic!

On #4 is Gave It All Up, a simple love song, that could have been on Beaucoups Of Blues, or even White Album in my opinion. Ringo’s voice is so warm and there is melancholy all over the place… He gave it all up just to be with her…

On #5 is Out On The Street, a groovy song that is not one of my favourites, but is a Ringo song so I can’t help it but liking it!

On side B’ for vinyl lovers, or just on #6 for cd, spotify and other digital formats, is Can She Do It Like She Dances! Oh yes Ringo! I can! Trust me, I can! Ringo is a little bit horny in this track, and why not? He has every right in the world to be, he was a Beatle, he is handsome and after all… is Ringo! The song is groovy song, with disco touches all over it! I really dig it!

On #7 is Sneaking Sally Through the Alley, a catchy title for a catchy song! Not my favourite of the album, but a very good track!

On #8 is It’s No Secret, and of course it is not! I love you Ringo with all my heart, and this song too! So sweet! And touchy! Do not pass this!

On #9 is Gypsies In Flight , an OK song, Ringo is singing great on this one too! Nothing special about it, but I like it!

and finally on #10…Simple Love Song. The title says it all. A simple love song, a perfect closure for an perfect album! I really love it and I hope someday I’ll make a cover of it, I sometimes sing on my rooftop! Like you did on January of 1969, remember?

that’s all about reviewing the tracks! It’s a pity that not all the recorded tracks made it to the final album. These tracks are «Lover Please», «Wild Shining Stars», «Birmingham», «This Party» , «By Your Side» and the only on B-side «Just A Dream»! I wish sometime we will have a deluxe version of the album, just like Paul’s Archive Collection with all the songs on it and some demos! It’s totally worth it!

Unfortunately, my poor Ringo critics were not good for you for this album, and said that it destroyed your career. Maybe it went down a little bit, but nevermind, ART it is not always about success, it is about expressing yourself. And you did on Ringo the 4th, your 4th album with original material!

and… I really like the -a little bit akward- photo of the cover, that was shot by Nancy Lee Andrews, your fiancée at that time! It really stand out when you see it, and you can’t take it out of your mind!

That’s all about Ringo the 4th by me, Byeolena! Carry on the good work Ringo and don’t get drowned in the sea of peace and love!

Peace and Love.

I’ve been busy…

My darling Ringo, and Ringo fans all around the world, lately I’ve been so busy with my school and I had to write a huge paper (around 60 pages!) Everyday I woke up to the sound of your music and I try to study, to find all the hard-to-find sources for my research! But… the distraction is real! At the moment I am listening to Bad Boy, oy oy oy oy! Because I am such a bad girl, because I had a whole month to make it and I have been left with only 3 days to do it! Shoobe do ahh!!!

Me, studying for my paper!

Anyway… I read some great news last week! That you are recording a new album! NEW MATERIAL! I am so excited!!! What will you serve us this time? More Love? More Peace? Who knows? Only you my only love! Can’t wait to hear updates! I am sure it will be perfect!

Also I would like to donate 10$ so I can take part in the contest so I can meet you on your birthday (and take a cha-cha-cha-chance!) on the 7th of July! But I don’t know for now! I hope I will!

Oh Ringo! that’s all my news! I am looking forward to hearing yours! Peace And Love!

Ringo Help!

Ringo, Ringo, my precious Ringo… Where are you?

I am down with flu for four days now, four days that seem like an enternity. I cough all the time, and my stomache aches. Like your stomache, my poor Ringo boy, in India. Where you had to eat beans all the time to make it…

But I know I am not alone, I have your beautiful songs to keep me company in the cold, dark night… I would Stop And Smell The Roses but… I have no smell at this time! So maybe Time Takes Time. And this is my Ringo Record of the week!

When I feel better I will share my personal opinion on this wonderful album! Imagine, I was not even born in 1992, when it was released!

Goodnight my Sir, Ringo, and to all you Ringo fans out there!

And remember… Don’t Go Where The Road Don’t Go!

Every day…

Just because we don’t live in Liverpool, it doesn’t mean we can’t feel Ringo around us, there, everywhere…Whenever I leave my house with my hearphones on, I just dream about the day when the two of us…

Hello, I am Helena from Greece, I’m a huge fan of Ringo Starr, totally love Ringo…I bought two albums. My favourite is the 4th album «Ringo The 4th», the new one… oh gosh! This is so precious to me.

I’ve been a fan of yours for two years now, and you’re totally the most extraordinary British artist I’ve ever seen. You’re so meaningful. You’re amazing! I really love your songs, and all the melodies and meanings. Amazing, you’re so great! You have such great humor.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! SO MUCH! Espcially your voice. Amazing Voice. I love you so much…

The song I want you to sing for me is… how do I put this?

In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines
So we sailed up to the sun
Till we found a sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
In our yellow submarine …
